Hi all,

Hope you are all enjoying a bit of R & R during the off season & catch up with everyone Pres night.

Just informing everyone that we appointed a new Surf Coach last weekend & this is exciting times for us all . We have appointed Nick Marshall, who is an exceptional Ironman at all levels including Aussie Titles, Coolangatta Gold etc. Nick is extremely keen to build Nobby’s skills at both Nipper & Senior levels as we try to boost our already strong nippers & encourage involvement at carnivals from our large cadet/senior base. Not for many years have we had access to such a level of Coaching .

Nick will bring a level of coaching that can only enhance our skills so we can do the best job possible on our stretch of paradise. We urge that our members, and in particular our seniors & cadets who are not in the habit of doing club training sessions, attend where they can, so we can develop a team atmosphere at Nobbys. It will be fun not “torture” & we will all enjoy if we partake & embrace as a club.

We have made sure we have a coach who is available for Saturday & Sunday sessions to enable our large Brisbane based contingent to take part in training. Our program will be spread over all ages & will include individual assessments and nutritional info as well as additional programs for individuals to do at home in Bris Vegas.

We will all see great improvements in these areas throughout next season & hope to see a presence from Nobby’s at selected carnivals to support champs like Lucas Allan in Team Events . We have noticed a lot of talent among our ranks & our aim will be to “Have a Go” more than any obsession with winning . FUN is the key word.

Will keep you all posted as we will slowly be introducing sessions & cross training probably on Sundays in the near future .
